SLEEVE BAGs are made of HIROCOLEDGE original tenuguis.

Main feature of these bags is that they form a shape of bag by sewing up a piece of tenugui without cutting at all. There is no need to cut on the pattern lines thus no cloth is wasted.

In addition, since no hardware is attached to the bag, they can be used as dustcloth even after they are deteriorated through heavy, long use. After they outlive their usefulness, they can be thrown away as burnable garbage .

Considering that SLEEVE BAGs are waste-free in its production process, can be used instead of plastic bags, and can be used as dustcloth after they are deteriorated, they truly are ecologically friendly product.

According to the statistics of the Japanese Ministry of the Environment, 60% of domestic waste is said to be containers and packaging. We invented this product in hopes of contributing to reduce the amount of waste.

Back in days when kimono was worn as everyday attire, people carried their belongings in kimono sleeves.

Our SLEEVE BAGs inherit the flat shape similar to those of kimono sleeves. Kimono sleeves are called “tamoto” in Japanese which also means “close,” and “by side of.”

With such backgrounds, these bags were named SLEEVE BAG hoping that they will be used as people used to use their kimono sleeves as a bag and that they will always be close to their life.
