Each HIROCOLEDGE yukata is hand-dyed by the specialists in Tokyo using traditional Katazome method.
Japanese yukata (summer kimono) is made of cotton and traditionally worn in the long, humid summer. The name yukata comes from the word "yu" (bath) and "katabira" (under clothing ). Thousands of years ago, Court Nobles wore linen "yukatabira" which were draped loosely after taking a bath.
Today, it is widely used for everything from festivals, parties, Japanese-style inns, summer daily attire, to simple night attire in Japan.
In other countries, yukatas are favored as night gowns and PJs.
We currently accept orders for yukata only on request. If you are interested in purchasing, please contact us from the "Send Inquiry" button placed in each item page. Thank you. |
